How Kojinsa Actually Works
Most AI tools for ecommerce work like a chatbot. You ask a question, it pulls up some data, maybe gives you an answer. That's fine if you know what to ask. But it does nothing on the days you're too busy to check in-which is most days.
We built Kojinsa around a different idea: the best operators don't wait for problems to become obvious. They're constantly scanning. "What changed this week?" "What's quietly hurting conversion?" "Which product is becoming a problem?" "What are competitors doing?" Those aren't one-time questions. They're ongoing.
So instead of you tracking every signal in the market, Kojinsa does it in the background. Think of it as the part of your brain that's always watching, even when you're focused on something else.
How it works
First, we break the chaos into simple observations.
Your store generates signals constantly: returns spike on a product, customers mention sizing issues in reviews, a competitor drops their price, email open rates trend down, ad comments turn negative. These are all just facts. Small, specific, true. We collect them from everywhere - your orders, ads, reviews, analytics, competitor sites, support tickets. We’ve coined an internal term: watch graph.
Then we connect the dots.
In a real business, one issue rarely lives in just one place. If a product has a quality problem, you'll see it in returns and reviews and support tickets and maybe ad comments. We group related signals together so you get one clear story instead of 47 scattered alerts. We’ve named this “atomic facts”.
Finally, we match what's happening against what you care about.
Every operator has the same core questions they'd ask if they had time: Is revenue trending the right direction? Are customers getting frustrated with something? Is a product becoming a problem? What are competitors doing that matters?
We save those questions for you - as a standing set of things to continuously monitor. When something in your data connects to one of those questions, you hear about it. Otherwise, we stay quiet.
Why this matters
You don't have to remember to ask. You don't have to open five dashboards. You don't have to manually connect the dots between your ads underperforming and your competitor launching a big promotion on the same day.
The system is always watching the parts of your business that matter. It surfaces what's meaningful. Everything else stays in the background.
Is this new?
Not really. Summarizing messy information into themes? That's been done. Using those themes to answer questions better? Also done. What's different is applying it to how merchants actually work - where your most important questions stay active, and the answers update as things change.
Most tools make you do the work: log in, ask questions, piece things together. We flip that. The work happens in the background. You just get the insights when they matter.
The simple version
Imagine you had someone whose only job was to watch your store, watch your competitors, and tell you when something important changed. That's Kojinsa. Except it doesn't take coffee breaks.
It's not magic. It's just continuous monitoring that actually works the way you'd do it yourself - if you had infinite time and perfect memory. Soon, we’ll be increasing our beta program and will be looking to partner with merchants. Sign up to our list and we’ll be in touch.
